All Currency Converter

Privacy policy

Last updated: August 30, 2026

All Currency Converter is published by Codeur d'Ivoire. This policy explains what the Android app and this website collect, why they collect it, who else receives it, and what you can decide for yourself. It covers the app distributed on Google Play under the listing name Currency Converter Offline, and the converter you can use directly in your browser on this site.

Converting a currency needs no account and no personal data. Most of what the app stores never leaves your device. What does leave it is advertising and measurement data, crash reports, and — only if you switch those features on — your rate alerts, your Google Drive backup and your Pro purchase. Each of those is described in its own section below.

Who is responsible for your data

The controller of the personal data described in this policy is Codeur d'Ivoire, publisher of the All Currency Converter app and of this website. If you have a question about this policy, or you want to exercise one of the rights listed further down, write to us and say which device and which app version you are using so we can find the right records.

  • Publisher and data controller: Codeur d'Ivoire.
  • Email: support@codeurdivoire.com.
  • From inside the app: Settings, then the contact entry.
  • Website: this site is operated by the same publisher and is covered by the same policy.

What the app collects automatically

The following data is collected when you use the Android app, without you having to enter anything. It is collected through Google software development kits embedded in the app, and it is described here in the same terms Google uses, so you can match it against the Play Store data safety section.

  • Advertising identifier: the Google Advertising ID of your device, read by the Google AdMob SDK to select advertising and to measure it. It is a resettable identifier, not your name or your email.
  • Usage data: which screens you open, which conversions you run, which features you use and how long a session lasts, collected through Firebase Analytics in aggregate form.
  • Technical information: device model, Android version, app version, system language, country as inferred from the device, and a Firebase installation identifier that lets those events be grouped into a session.
  • Crash reports: the stack trace, the app state and the device state at the moment of a crash, collected through Firebase Crashlytics so a defect can be reproduced and fixed.

What stays on your device

The app is built to work offline, which means most of what it needs lives in local storage on your phone. This data is not sent to our servers, it is not readable by us, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app. The one exception is Google Drive backup, which you have to turn on yourself and which is described in its own section.

You can clear all of it at any time from the Android system settings for the app, or by uninstalling the app.

  • Your preferences: language, theme, number of decimals, thousand separator, default and favourite currencies.
  • Your converter setup: the source currency and the list of target currencies you converted to, in the order you arranged them.
  • The rate cache: the last exchange rates downloaded, kept so the app can convert with no connection, plus the timestamp of the last successful sync.
  • Your widget configuration: the three currency pairs shown on the home screen widget and the period selected for their trend charts.
  • Counters used to pace the app itself: how many conversions you have run, when the app was first installed, and when a promotional card or a review prompt was last shown.
  • A cached copy of your Pro status and its expiry date, so premium features keep working when the phone is offline.

Advertising through Google AdMob

The free version of the app shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. That is how the app is funded and how it stays free to download and use. Advertising appears only in the mobile app: there is no advertising on this website.

To select and measure that advertising, the AdMob software development kit reads the Google Advertising ID of your device, together with coarse technical information such as your device model, your app version and your approximate location as inferred from your IP address. Google acts as an independent controller for the advertising it serves and processes that data under its own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy. We do not receive the advertising profile Google builds, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers ourselves.

You are not obliged to accept personalised advertising, and you have three separate ways to reduce it or remove it entirely.

  • Turn off personalisation on your device: open Android Settings, then Google, then Ads, and use the option to delete your advertising ID or to opt out of ads personalisation. Advertising will still appear, but it will no longer be selected from an advertising profile.
  • Withdraw or change any consent you were asked for: where the law of your country requires consent before personalised advertising is served, that choice is requested in the app and can be changed later from the app settings.
  • Remove advertising entirely by upgrading to Pro. A Pro subscription or the lifetime purchase turns off all advertising in the app for as long as it is active.
  • Watch an optional rewarded video to suspend advertising for a limited period, without paying anything. Watching one is always your choice and never a condition of using the converter.

Rate alerts and push notifications

A rate alert asks our server to watch a currency pair for you and to notify you when it crosses a threshold or moves by a chosen percentage. That feature cannot run entirely on your device, so creating an alert sends data to us. If you never create an alert, nothing in this section applies to you.

Alerts are stored on our own infrastructure, hosted on Cloudflare Workers, and are evaluated on a schedule against the exchange rates we fetch. Notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging, which is Google's push service for Android.

Deleting an alert in the app deletes it on our side as well. Turning off notification permission for the app in the Android settings stops delivery immediately, and revoking that permission does not affect anything else in the app.

  • The alert itself: the currency pair, the direction and the threshold or percentage you chose, and whether the alert is still active.
  • A push token issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging for your installation, needed to reach your device. It identifies an app installation, not a person, and it changes if you reinstall the app.
  • An anonymous customer identifier issued by RevenueCat, used to check whether your account is entitled to more than the free allowance of one active alert.
  • No email address, no phone number and no name is attached to an alert, because the app never asks you for any of them.

Google Drive backup

Google Drive backup is an optional Pro feature. When you turn it on, you sign in with your Google account and grant the app access to the application data folder of your own Drive, a hidden folder reserved for the app. The backup file is written there, in your Drive, under your Google account.

We do not host that file, we do not copy it to our servers and we cannot read it. The scope granted is limited to the application data folder, which means the app cannot see your documents, your photos or anything else in your Drive.

You can revoke that access at any time from your Google account security settings, and you can delete the backup file itself from the app or from Drive. A backup contains your settings, your favourites, your converter setup, your alerts and your widget configuration. It never contains payment data.

The Pro subscription and payments

Pro is sold through Google Play. Google collects the payment and holds the payment method. We never see your card number, your bank details or your billing address, and no payment credentials pass through the app.

Entitlements are managed by RevenueCat, which records that a purchase happened and tells the app whether Pro is active. For that it receives an anonymous app user identifier generated on your device, the store receipt of your purchase, the product bought, the country of the store account and basic device platform information. RevenueCat processes this on our behalf as a processor, under its own privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

The analytics events recorded when a purchase starts, completes, fails or is cancelled carry the screen the purchase came from and the plan involved. They carry no payment identifier and cannot be used to trace a transaction back to your payment method.

This website

The converter on this site works without an account and without you giving us anything. Pages are generated in advance as static HTML and refreshed hourly, so browsing them does not create a profile of you.

The site sets no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies, runs no third-party analytics, and shows no advertising. The browser converter fetches its figures from a single endpoint on this site, which returns the same hourly rate snapshot to every visitor. That snapshot is identical for everyone, so the request reveals nothing about you and nothing about it is personalised.

As with any website, the hosting provider keeps short-lived technical server logs, which may include your IP address, for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. Those logs are not used to build an advertising profile.

Why we process this data

Each category of data described above serves one of the following purposes, and nothing is collected for a purpose that is not listed here.

  • Running the service: converting currencies, caching rates for offline use, keeping your favourites and settings, evaluating rate alerts and delivering their notifications.
  • Selling and honouring the Pro upgrade: verifying that a purchase is valid and that premium features should be unlocked on your device.
  • Funding the free version: selecting and measuring the advertising shown in the app.
  • Improving the app: understanding which features are used and where people get stuck, in aggregate, so development effort goes where it matters.
  • Fixing defects: reproducing crashes and errors from the technical reports they generate.
  • Protecting the service: rate limiting, abuse prevention and the security of our rates API.

Legal basis for each purpose

For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation requires us to name a legal basis for each processing operation. Ours are as follows.

  • Performance of a contract: delivering the conversion features you asked for, evaluating and sending your rate alerts, and unlocking the Pro features you paid for.
  • Consent: personalised advertising, where the law of your country requires consent before it is served, and push notifications, which Android only sends after you grant permission. You can withdraw either at any time, and withdrawal does not affect processing carried out beforehand.
  • Legitimate interest: aggregate usage analytics, crash reporting, and the security and abuse prevention measures protecting our API. We balance that interest against your rights by keeping the data aggregated, short-lived and free of direct identifiers.
  • Legal obligation: retaining what tax and accounting rules require us to retain in connection with a purchase.

Who else receives data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. The parties below receive data because a specific feature cannot work without them. Each processes it under its own published privacy terms.

  • Google AdMob: advertising selection and measurement in the free version of the app.
  • Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics: usage measurement and crash reporting.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivery of rate alert notifications to your device.
  • Google Play Billing: payment, refunds and subscription management for the Pro upgrade.
  • RevenueCat: purchase validation and entitlement management on our behalf.
  • Google Drive: storage of your backup file, in your own account, only if you enable backup.
  • Cloudflare: hosting of our rates and alerts API, including the storage of active alerts.
  • ExchangeRate-API: the source of the exchange rates. Rate requests are made by our server for everyone at once and carry no personal data about you.
  • Public authorities: only where a valid legal request obliges us to disclose something, and only to the extent required.

Where your data is processed

Google, RevenueCat and Cloudflare operate infrastructure in several countries, including the United States, so some of the data described here is processed outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission, together with the additional technical measures the providers document, such as encryption in transit and at rest.

You can ask us which safeguard applies to a specific provider, and we will point you to the relevant published terms.

How long data is kept

We keep data only as long as the purpose that justified collecting it lasts. In practice that means the following retention periods.

  • Analytics data: retained for at most 24 months, then deleted by Firebase.
  • Crash reports: retained for 90 days.
  • Rate alerts and their push token: retained while the alert is active, and deleted when you delete the alert or uninstall the app. Triggered alerts are deactivated automatically.
  • Purchase and entitlement records: retained for as long as the subscription or the lifetime purchase is active, and afterwards for the period accounting and tax rules require.
  • Data stored on your device: retained until you clear the app data or uninstall the app.
  • Your Google Drive backup: retained in your own Drive until you delete it.
  • Server logs for the website and the API: retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

How data is protected

All traffic between the app, the website and our servers goes over encrypted HTTPS connections. Our rates and alerts API requires an application key, applies rate limiting per address, and stores alerts in managed storage rather than in a public database. Data held on your device is written to the app private storage area, which other apps on the phone cannot read.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach ever affects your personal data and is likely to present a risk to you, we will notify the competent supervisory authority and, where the law requires it, you.

Children

The app and the website are general-audience tools for converting currencies and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child below the age at which consent is valid in their country. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, write to us and we will delete what we hold.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, and under comparable laws elsewhere, you hold the following rights over your personal data. To exercise any of them, write to support@codeurdivoire.com. We answer within one month, and we may ask for information that lets us identify the installation concerned, because the app holds no account we can match you against.

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your data. Deleting the local data is immediate and in your hands, by uninstalling the app.
  • Portability: ask for the data you provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data while a dispute about it is resolved.
  • Objection: object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest, including analytics.
  • Withdrawal of consent: turn off personalised advertising in your device settings, and turn off notifications in the Android settings for the app, at any time.
  • Complaint: lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. In France that is the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertes.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. Nothing is stored in your browser to identify you across sites, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

The app does not use cookies in the browser sense, but the Google AdMob, Firebase and RevenueCat software development kits store identifiers in the app private storage for the purposes described above. Clearing the app data or uninstalling the app removes them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes or when a provider changes. The revision date at the top of the page always reflects the current version, and previous versions are replaced rather than kept online.

When a change materially affects how your data is handled, we announce it in the app before it takes effect, and where the law requires new consent, we ask for it rather than assuming it.

In short

If you read nothing else on this page, these are the points that matter.

  • You can convert currencies in the app and on this website without an account and without giving us any personal data.
  • Your settings, favourites and cached rates stay on your phone, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
  • The free version of the app shows advertising through Google AdMob, which reads your device advertising ID. You can reset or delete that ID in the Android settings, and a Pro upgrade removes advertising entirely.
  • Rate alerts, Google Drive backup and the Pro upgrade are the three features that send data off your device, and each one is optional.
  • We never sell your data, and you can ask us to show it, correct it or delete it at any time.
