A currency converter built to work offline
All Currency Converter converts between 148 currencies on Android and keeps converting when the connection stops: the last synced rates are stored on the phone and used straight away. Rates come from ExchangeRate-API and refresh every hour while you are online, in 20 app languages with every currency name localised.

Everyday conversion
The part you open twenty times on a trip and twice a month at your desk. One screen, one amount, every currency you care about answered at once.
148 currencies
Convert between 148 world currencies, from the euro and the US dollar to the CFA franc, the Indian rupee and the Moroccan dirham. When a supplier invoices you in a currency you have never handled, it is already in the list and already named in your language.
One amount, several currencies at once
Choose one source currency and see it converted into as many targets as you want on a single screen. Booking a flight with a stopover, you read the fare in your home currency, in the airline's currency and in the one you will actually spend, without switching anything.
A calculator in the amount field
Type an expression straight into the amount, with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and every converted figure updates as you type. At a market stall working out three of something at the price you were just quoted, the arithmetic and the conversion happen in one move.
Your currencies in your order
Drag your target currencies into the order you want to read them in, and they stay there. The two you check constantly sit at the top, so the answer is on screen before you have finished looking for it.
Copy a converted amount
Each converted figure has a copy button beside it. When the number is going into an invoice, a message to a client or a spreadsheet, it arrives exactly as displayed, with the decimals you chose.
Offline and speed
The reason to install a converter rather than search for one. Conversion happens on the device, from rates already stored on it, so nothing waits on a network.
Full offline conversion
The app stores the last rates it synced and converts from them with no connection at all: in flight mode, in a metro tunnel, or abroad before you have activated a local SIM. You land, you convert the taxi fare on the spot, and the answer does not depend on airport roaming.
Rates refreshed hourly
While you are online, rates refresh every hour from ExchangeRate-API and the screen shows the time of the last update. You always know how fresh the figure is, which matters when the last sync was two days and one border ago.
Pull to refresh on demand
Pull the converter down to fetch the current rates immediately. Before you agree a price or send a transfer, one gesture confirms you are working from today's figure and not yesterday's.
Results with no loading screen
Conversions are computed on the phone from the stored rate table, so the figures appear as you type instead of after a request. Standing at a counter with someone waiting for your answer, that difference is the whole point.
Tracking rates over time
A single rate tells you nothing about whether it is a good one. These features put the figure in context and tell you when it moves.
Historical charts
Follow any pair on an interactive chart, from the last 7 days up to a full year. Before you price an invoice in another currency, you can see whether the rate you are about to quote is high, low or unremarkable for the period.
Minimum, maximum, average and variation
Every pair reports its lowest and highest point, its average and its percentage change over the period you select. That turns a rate you cannot judge into one you can, which is the difference between converting your savings today and waiting a week.
Rate alerts
ProSet a threshold, or a percentage move, and get a push notification when the pair crosses it. You stop opening the app to check before a transfer: your first active alert is free, and Pro removes the limit so you can watch several pairs at once.
Android home screen widget
ProThree pairs of your choice sit on your home screen with their current rate and a small trend chart. It is free for seven days after you add it and part of Pro afterwards, and either way the rate is there without opening anything.
Data, backup and personalisation
What happens to your figures once you have them, and how the app adapts to the way you read numbers.
CSV and PDF export
ProExport your conversions, a pair's history or the full rate table as a CSV file or a PDF. When an expense claim or an accountant asks which rate you used on a given day, you send the file instead of reconstructing the figure from memory.
Google Drive backup
ProBack up your settings, favourites and currency lists to your own Google Drive, and restore them on a new phone. Changing device stops costing you the setup you did months ago and have long forgotten.
20 languages, currency names included
The interface and every currency name are available in 20 languages, including French, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi and Japanese. Reading a currency's real name instead of a bare three-letter code removes the hesitation you get when two currencies share a symbol.
Dark, light and system themes
Pick the theme you want, or let the app follow your phone. Checking a rate at night on a long flight should not mean a white screen at full brightness.
Numbers formatted your way
Set the number of decimals and the thousand separator, choose your default currencies and mark favourites. A yen amount and a euro amount do not need the same precision, and the app follows your convention rather than imposing one.
Free and Pro
The app is free to download and free to use for conversion, including the offline mode. Pro unlocks the four features marked above and is bought inside the app.
